About
Each ÄK MIXED MEDIA piece combines layers of photography, textures, digital collages, local beaches, street signs, handwritten notes, and town names, capturing the essence of the East End. It's your memories made tangible. Like souvenirs, these personalized pieces bring authentic memories of the East End into your home, preserving the character of the place in every detail and keeping your connection to it alive no matter where you are.
Process
Each mixed-media collage begins with a painted base, followed by layers of torn paper, newsprint, vintage photography, and digital collage. All adhered with an adhesive medium. Additional layers of spray paint, acrylics, paint pens, and tissue paper are applied to build depth and texture. Every piece is then sealed with a thick, glossy finish. With layers of torn paper and collage, each piece feels like a scrapbook of memories, capturing the feeling of time, place, and nostalgia.

The Artist
My name is Amanda Krähe
I am a mixed-media artist and designer. I grew up in East Hampton, where I attended EHHS. After graduating, I moved to the city to attend FIT. During my time at FIT, I developed skills in advertising, art direction, branding, graphic design, UX/UI design, and motion graphics. In May 2025, I graduated with a BFA in Advertising and Digital Design.
I've always been creating artwork, but after graduating from college, I was motivated to create a collection of artwork inspired by where I grew up. As a designer who loves branding projects, I also wanted to develop a brand for my artwork: ÄK MIXED MEDIA. Creativity has always been at the center of who I am. Whether through art, music, fashion, or film, I’m always looking for new ways to grow and express myself. Combining design and art allows me to bring a unique perspective to everything I create. I am always looking for and exploring new ways to better myself as an artist and designer.
